Supporting Young Communicators

Little Voices Oʻahu Keiki Speech Therapy is a mobile private practice providing speech therapy to children on the island of Oʻahu.

At Little Voices Oʻahu, our goal is to help children improve their communication skills so they can thrive in their daily environment. We understand that each child is unique, and we are dedicated to meeting each child where they are at in order to best support them in their communication development.

About us

At Little Voices Oʻahu, we value and prioritize parent/caregiver training and involve them in every session. We believe parents and caregivers are their child’s best teacher and involving them in the therapeutic process is key to improving the child’s outcomes.

Services are provided in the child’s home or at locations in the community (e.g. daycare, school, library, park). Home/community-based services enable us to deliver therapy in a familiar and comfortable setting, train parents, caregivers and teachers, and offer opportunities for the child to apply skills in their everyday environment.

During sessions, you will learn evidence-based strategies and have opportunities to practice them with your child while being coached by the clinician, in order to help your child achieve his or her goals.

Research shows that coaching parents and/or caregivers to use evidence-based strategies, can lead to positive changes for the child as well as enhanced parent well-being.

Our Services

30 minute consultation

Do you have questions or concerns about your child’s speech and language? We offer a free, 30-minute phone consultation to answer questions, discuss your needs, and determine how we can support your child and family.

Speech and Language Evaluation

We conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations to better understand your child’s strengths and areas where they may need support. We use standardized tools, parent reports, and clinical observations to determine individualized goals for your child.

Speech and Language Therapy

We provide individualized speech and language therapy that is play-based and child-led. Sessions are fun and include parent/caregiver training so families can support progress at home and school.

Does my child need speech therapy?

Like all developmental skills and milestones, communication development can vary greatly. Every child develops uniquely, and may meet their milestones earlier or later compared to others.

Being familiar with developmental milestones can be helpful for parents and caregivers to know what to expect as their child grows, identify skills to work on, and know when to seek professional help.

Meet Kehau

Aloha! My name is Kehau. I’m a licensed speech-language pathologist (SLP) in the state of Hawaiʻi and founder of Little Voices Oʻahu Keiki Speech Therapy. I was born and raised on the island of Oʻahu, and attended California Lutheran University where I completed my Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. I obtained my Master of Science degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Hawaiʻi in 2020, and hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).

After working as an SLP in the Department of Education and in private practice, I witnessed first hand the importance of including parents and caregivers in the therapeutic process. This reality is what interested me in starting my own private practice in order to serve children and families in Hawaii. I love pairing evidence-based strategies with child-led and play-centered approaches to make learning fun!

Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my husband, two children, and our two dogs; I love being in the ocean, reading a good book, and watching a good show when I can. I look forward
